Glaze silently walked across the rivers edge, listening to the gurgle of the water. It was a beautiful day out; the sun was shining, the animals running about, and the flowers beginning to grow. But Glaze thought it was disgusting. She never liked anything or anyone really; except her mate. Her mate, Ice, was hunting somewhere off in the forest. The old, gray, she-cat was thinking about how disgusting this day was. But lost in her thoughts, she took a wrong step and slipped, falling towards the river. She yowled in surprise. But luckily, she fell between a rock and the bank of the river. She struggled to get out of the river and the muck of mud in it. Finally, she got out, covered with mud. "Ugh..." she rasped.

Ice padded towards Slick Stone River, where his mate, Glaze, said she would be. He had been out hunting for them and had a plump vole clamped in his jaws. When Ice arrived, he scanned the bank of the river for Glaze. He couldn't see here. But as the black tom searched, he saw a mound of mud off in the distance. It was moving. He thingyed his head to the side then ran off toawrds it. When he got there, he noticed the mound of mud was Glaze! "What did you do?" Ice snapped. "You're as filthy as a dog!" Ice and Glaze were never really...nice...to each other that often, but they still loved each other.

Glaze looked up to see her mate, Ice. "I fell in the river." she rasped. "It's no need to make a fuss about. I can just wash myself off!" Glaze started licking her fur clean of the mud.

"Well, I caught some kill for you." Ise said, tossing the vole to Glaze. "I'll be around the forest if you need me." Ice turned around and ran off into the forest.
